FRESH COASTAL CUISINE—NOW OPEN AT ALPHARETTA CITY CENTER Featuring Hyper-Seasonal Food Menu & Extensive Mezcal Bar Program

Drawing inspiration from relaxed beach towns along the East Coast—like surfer favorite Montauk—Lapeer is from Co-owner Louis Soon and Culinary Director Andy Long of Maven Restaurant Group, the team behind acclaimed Alpharetta spots South Main Kitchen and Butcher & Brew.

Open daily for dinner with lunch and weekend brunch to follow, Lapeer features a hyper-seasonal seafood menu of dayboat fish, including East Coast and Gulf oysters, wild-caught fish and shrimp from along the Gulf of Mexico, crabmeat from Bayou la Batre and tuna from Louisiana. Produce is sourced directly from farms in Georgia, such as Levity Farms, Tucker Farms, AJ Stonehaven Farms, Martin’s Garden, Crystal Organics, Ashland Farms and Grant Wallace Farm.

In addition to a raw bar highlighting classics like oysters, crudo, seafood towers and more, guests can expect family-style shared plates and daily specials. A refreshing beverage program centered upon mezcal complements the food menu and features more than 100 different mezcal varieties available for one and two-ounce pours. The drink program also delivers a seasonally driven lineup of craft cocktails designed to spotlight different expressions of mezcal based on terroir and agave varieties like La Protagonista, a boozy, playful drink that mixes Vida Mezcal, Meyers's Dark Rum, mango, banana, Rich Demerara Syrup, Orinoco Bitters, egg white and black lava salt.

Lapeer’s modern space was designed by Curious Yellow Design studio in New York, the firm behind residential and commercial projects including Hero Beach Club in Montauk. Inside the 3,000-square-foot restaurant, tall 15-foot ceilings top a clean, bright and relaxed interior with custom tile, white slat walls and brass finishes throughout. Guests are given a front-row view into the restaurant’s kitchen, which is home to a state-of-the-art Hestan Suite—one of a few restaurants in Georgia to house the award-winning culinary equipment. A greenhouse-inspired, 840-square-foot outdoor patio with a glass ceiling and walls flanks the restaurant and overlooks a courtyard in Alpharetta City Center. Designed for year-round outdoor dining, the expansive and airy patio is temperature controlled, allowing guests to dine comfortably no matter the season.  

Several existing members of the Maven Restaurant Group team run the food and beverage program at Lapeer. Blake Hartley, who currently serves as Sous Chef at South Main Kitchen, helms the kitchen as Executive Chef. A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Blake brings over 14 years of cooking experience and has worked at acclaimed Birmingham spots Frank Stitt’s Bottega Restaurant and Chris Hastings’ Hot & Hot Fish Club, in addition to Evangeline’s Restaurant in Tuscaloosa. He joined Maven Restaurant Group in 2017.

Cody Brown, Beverage Director at South Main Kitchen, runs the cocktail program and mezcal bar. Elise Vitale, who serves as Pastry Chef at Butcher & Brew and South Main Kitchen, heads up desserts. Owner Louis Soon oversees the wine program, and Andy Long continues to serve as Culinary Director for all concepts under the umbrella of Maven Restaurant Group.
